3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 soccer290 (200) - Highland Park, Illinois, USA - JUL 11, 2009
12 oz bottle. Got this at my liquor store at home, figured it would be worth a try since it was on the 99 cent shelf. Pours a orangey-gold color with a small off-white head that dissipates slowly. The aroma is potent, smelling of lots of fruit (sweet grapefruit I think), pine, and a nice amount of hops (more than I was expecting by smell). Tastes of pine, hops, and that’s about it. Where did all of that sweet smelling fruit go??? Not too weak of a build, but I cannot express of disappointed I am about the taste, it is nothing like the smell. Had potential, but meh.

Excellent Bottled microbrew bought locally here at a LV liquor store. Surprising aftertase of grapefruit that lingers.

Bottle unleashes an orangish gold body with aromas of pine and citrus with a little malty sweetness. Flavor is crisply
hopped, yet has a sufficient malt backbone to balanmce it out. This is a pleasant and solid brew.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dmalone102 (223) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 8, 2009
Excellent beer. Here is an IPA that isn’t over the top, it’s just well made. There is a great malt-hop ballance here. It’s nice to see that these Montana guys can keep up with the west coast. The hop flavor is fresh and pronounced, without being too bitter. The malt flavor balances just enough. I dug this beer.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tmoreau (1268) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUL 5, 2009
First enjoyed at The 08 Great Lakes Brewfest in Racine, WI. It made the Chicagoland market soon after. 12 oz. bottle poured into a festival glass a clear, orange/amber with a slightly orange tint to the off white, lasting, foamy head. Numerous ribbons of clingy lacing were left on the glass interior. The aroma was predominately citrus, fruit as pineapple and orange rind, sweetness and some secondary resiny notes. The flavor added these to a nice balance of caramelly malt and hop, with a strong bitterness that was consistent with the impressive aroma presentation. Has become one of my favorite IPAs.
