Source: 12 oz bottle in a sampler pack. Purchased at Friar Tuck’s in Peoria. Appearance: Poured a clear amber color with a two finger cream colored head. Aroma: Piney hops and caramel malt. Flavor: Caramel malt base with a strong pine flavor. Lingering bitter finish. Palate: Medium body with good carbonation and a clean mouthfeel. Overall: Very good. Being a big fan of Moose Drool, I wanted to try some of their other beers. This one was excellent.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops, and caramel. Nice balanced aroma. Plenty of hops right away. Flavor is also mostly balanced. Not over the top.

Pour is a orange with a small white head. Aroma is of pine resin and not much else. Flavor is a decent helping of hops but not overwhelming. No real malts to speak of. There is nothing wrong with this beer its just that its a pretty standard IPA.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mrbirmingham (37) - Kansas, USA - APR 21, 2009
Aroma: Wow an IPA with a big complex aroma. The floral, piney, citrus goodness of hops are is very powerful, while malts remain very clean.
Appearance: The beer pours with bright clarity, a deep copper color and tall off white head that lingers.
Flavor: HOPS! The hops are in the flavor forefront. The hops give their citrus and piney flavors to beer. The balance is towards the bitter and yet the bitterness is not over powering.
Mouth feel: Smooth medium light bodied beer. There is slight astringency on the sides of the tongue; it could just be the bitterness coming through.
Overall Impression: It’s very good beer, definitely a buy again and again beer. The Hops are in your face with their wonderful aromas and flavor.

Not bad, a little sour, thick mouthfeel, orangey sweetness? Light on the piny IPA hoppiness that I would expect or hope for. Decent.

Well the bitterness really comes out in this one. Very nice resin citrus aroma, very forward. Taste is well balanced, the hop resin bitterness hits first, made my friend pucker up her face, but this had a good mix of citrus and some pine with a mild sweetness at the end.
This was the final sample of a mix 12 from Big Sky and one of the better ones I have ever had, well done.

12 ounce bottle picked up for my brother-in-law and myself to enjoy over Easter. I was pleasantly surprised with this IPA. It poured a light copper color with a one finger width white head with a decent amount of carbonation. The aroma is very typical for an IPA; hoppy with some subtle malts and a hint of pine and citrus. The taste consists of a lot of hops with some citrus hints and a nice bitterness at the end. I must also say that this left great lacing on the side of my glass. Overall, this is exactly what an IPA should be... nothing extremely special though.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 raphael (621) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 11, 2009
Good resiny hop aroma, with caramel, lemon. A little flat on the tongue. clear dark amber w/ khaki head of modest duration. Flavor starts sweet, almost cantaloupe, but soon overrun w/ hops, just a little harsh, with a drying finish.
