3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jmohno (288) - Iowa, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Dark golden- copper, clear, good head aroma hoppy at first then fades to nothing but some yeast maybe herbal not much but yeast, quickest hop aroma of the west i guess.Still very faint in background. Herbal hop bitterness full mouthfeel good malt backbone solid herbal bitterness, quick and clean finish.Kind of a roasty coffee like spicy type bitterness dry finish.Drinkablitlity is very good, these could go quick.Better beer than i thought would be. Ill visit it again, I like the mellow dry toasted kinda herbal hop character in this ipa. Hop aroma seems to fade in and out while warming adding fruit at the end with some alcohol.

Bottle at Papago Brewing Company in Scottsdale, AZ. Pours a slightly hazy light amber with light orange highlights. Medium tall tan head and moderate lacing. Mild citrusy, piney aroma. Hop-forward flavor profile with pine notes dominating the citrus touches. Vanilla, toffee and a little chocolate round out the supporting cast. Reasonably stiff malt body. Crisp and bitter finish. Not a bad IPA by any stretch but not special.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rougeau13 (1065) - Texas, USA - JUN 30, 2011
Deep, clear amber with a a puffy off-white head that leaves lots of scattered lacing. Somewhat mild aroma of citrus and pine with a nice caramel backbone. Taste is predominantly malty, just slightly sweet, but with a nice piney hop profile with only a mild bitterness. Very mild, considering the style... Seems like more of an APA. Medium body, moderate carbonation, long, slightly bitter finish. It’s a tasty, enjoyable beer, but mild is the best word to summarize it.

Pours a clear color copper with a large off-white head. Aroma of citrus/grapefruit hops with some caramel malts. Flavor is a nice mix of citrus & floral hops with a decent caramel malt backbone. Nice bitterness all the way through the taste. This is a very good IPA.

Quite enjoyable. Very sessionable. Light bodied and quite refreshing for an IPA, I’d probably put this somewhere between a pale ale and IPA. Mildly citrusy, and bready. Flavor is close to New Belgium Ranger.

12 oz, bottle got in a trade with Sledutah. Used a pint glass. A light brown or amber color. Huge, off-white head that is amazingly long lived and dense. Great lace down the glass. A well blended balance of hops and malt. Somehow this is different then most other IPA’s. I believe it is the use of the malt. No bitterness in the finish at all and malt does well to balances the hops. I really like the extra malt in this beer. I wish I could buy this in New England but I am very glad I got to try this. Ranks high in my IPA’s. Thanks Craig!
