COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, rich IPA features Simcoe hops which give it both a fruity, piney hop nose and a clean, ringing bitterness. IN-between, the malt flavor is slightly caramel for a touch of malt sweetness. This IPA is well-balanced and very expressive with hops.

Nice piney aroma and taste that got better as the gulps went down. Great mouthfeel and easy drinking. I would shirley get this again. And don’t call me shirley. Hey Grim, your shooting about 1 in 10 on the good beers but you got yourself a winner here.

Nice deep amber in color. Moderate long lasting slightly off white head. Quite smooth for an IPA - in fact I thought a little too smooth. It didn’t pack the punch of some of my favorites in this category. The aftertaste and bitterness was short-lived. I would drink it again, but there are several IPAs that I would choose before this one.

Initial pine aroma is eventually overwhelmed by a musty apple fruitiness. Deep amber in color, slightly red, with a nice head. Nice Simcoe hoppiness, quite the expressive hop, with some grapefruit, pine. Solid malt base with som caramel apple and some crystal malt-type cherries - leading to the dry aftertaste. Residual bitteness. Very quaffable. While not extraordinary, it does what it does very well and is one of the better session-type IPAs I have had in awhile. You could drink this one all night.

Fruity, spicy, dry, bitter, this is how I like IPA. Similar to Great Lakes CP but not as good.

Bottle from Blue Max. Healthy amount of hoppiness ,more than a lot of other IPA’s. A very good session beer. Felt good on the tongue with the bitterness fromm the hops. This is one I will now buy by the 6 pack.

via trade with Buck Dich - Pours an amber color with a nice off white head. Light lacing. Big citrus hop aroma. NICE. Has a fruity, citrus flavor. Not much malt. All about the hops. Thin mouthfeel. Light to medium body. I like it. Thanks Jordan.

Very pleasent pineapple, evergreen and earthy hop aroma; pours with a nice, creamy head over a deep copper colored body; toastty malts with a touch of nuttiness in a somewhat full and fairly creamy body; nice balance and very tasty offering from Big Sky.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2006 Re-rate: I accidentally tried this one again, buying a six-pack without remembering I’d had it before. Now I find the beer a little more crisp and clean in both the aroma and the flavor, The dustiness is gone and the caramel malts more prominent, with nice juicy citrus hops giving a great bitter flavor. I’m bumping this rating up a couple of points. 12 oz. bottle, from Liquid Solutions - thanks Matt! Pours a clear, rich copper-amber color with a moderate off-white head that lingers nicely and leaves thick lacing. Aroma is primarily hoppy, with toasty malts, some dustiness, a bit of earth and plentiful floral and piney hops. The flavor stays quite true to the profile of the aroma, with earthy, toasty malts upfront, followed by bold spicy and acidically tangy hops - though the flavor ends up occurring to me as somewhat "flat" overall. Medium body and gentle, creamy carbonation make for a pleasant mouthfeel.

Bottled. Pours an almost clear copper with a lacy pale yellow head. The aroma is oranges and mangoes with a sprig of pine. Medium body and carbonation. The taste starts sweet with toffee, oranges, fruit and grapefruit peel leading to a resinous piney finish.

Citrusy, earthy hop aroma, pleasant ,but it didn’t tweek my nose like the best do, light ,very refreshing piney citrus hop taste,a satisfying bitterness in the finish, malt is simply there for balance. While Big Sky doesn’t make any 4.3+’s they dont make any bad ones either. They are all tastey and true to style. Thanks Kingpin
