COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, rich IPA features Simcoe hops which give it both a fruity, piney hop nose and a clean, ringing bitterness. IN-between, the malt flavor is slightly caramel for a touch of malt sweetness. This IPA is well-balanced and very expressive with hops.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2011 Went in not expecting much but this was decent. It had a decent piney bitterness to it that wasn’t overpowering and was overall easy to drink and not too skewed to the hops over the malts.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head and light lacing, slight retention. Hoppy with plenty of malt as well. Piney hop tones up front, lighter grass and a hint of fruit, citrus like. Malty backbone with a medium body and a light malt sweetness. Decent.

Gift from SJ. This is good example of a solid IPA. Nice orange pourwith a stong hop, pine and grapefruit aroma. Nice grassy hop and orange peel taste. Perfect balance between alcohol\ mat and hop. WELL DONE.

5 sept 2010, bottle. floral, grassy hops (with some yellow grapefruit). med body, fizzy but kind of thin. only okay. i’m looking for some depth and body in an ipa. especially when it’s over 6%

Pours a beautiful deep copper color with moderate off-white head with good retention. Nose is dominated by piney hops, with just a touch of malty sweetness in there as well. Taste is citrus hops with just a touch of sweetness to balance it out. Not an overly hoppy or bitter IPA, but a pretty decent brew.

Pours a clear ruby-orange color. Moderate white head with good retention and lacing. Moderate aroma of tropical fruit and pine resin. Slightly musty flavor with mild caramel malt and earthy hops. Slightly dry finish.

from a 12 oz bottle pours a see through orange color with a whife head I actaully smell the malt first and then the floral hops with some citrus. The taste is hops first off set by a sweet finish. Great balanced beer.

Let’s get this straight: this is NOT Blatz. It is the best IPA I had today, however. and that’s how I roll. Keep the Blatz for your bad self, and every now and than throw one of these into your system to confuse it, and let it know the true glory of Val’s finest.
