4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Flavors aren’t as deep as some of my favorite IPAs and double IPAs but still really nice citrus/grapefruit, pine, and hops. In addition, some sweetness blended in along with some bitterness on the finish which I really like. Even with an ABV 6.2 one of my favorite session IPAs because it’s somewhat easy drinking in my opinion.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle @ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Clear amber brown, heavy tan head cover, a curtain of lace. Aroma is an appealing citrus and malt. Taste is full-bodied toffee malt that grows in the palate, finally allowing satisfying citrus hops to wash through on the swallow. But,...when the "smoke" clears, there is the malt, lingering nicely. Good stuff.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from pizza port. Loved jackls description of "tired" could agree more lots of malt and syrup. Tastes like it has been sitting around for too long even though the can indicates it’s fairly fresh. Only ok, wouldn’t drink again.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Guess Who? Bentonville. Strong caramel malt. Hot cantaloupe. Cotton candy. Flavor is slightly tangy grain, sickly apple. Strange. Strong malt character. Tastes pretty tired. Medium body, syrupy. Not great.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Craig MT. Translucent copper amber with caramel head. Pine fruit and citrus hops on the nose. A colorful taste with a strong hoppy pine grapefruit rind finish. Similar or the NW style, just a little more wild, almost seems like Sage in the initial bite. I like it!

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Another great beer from Big Sky. This IPA has a less-typical amber shade that’s topped with a nice layer of foam. The aroma is more subdued on this one but you still get a fair helping of citrus and herbal woodsiness. The flavor is keenly balanced with the sweetness of caramel malt and the bitterness of Simcoe hops. The flavors of pine and grapefruit never overwhelm the rich malt backbone. While I think this ale could use some dry-hopping to bring out the aroma, the flavor and balance of this IPA are solid.
