3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thin pour with a quick tan vanishing head. Nose is full of the whiskey. Taste is boozy, could do with some aging to turn it down a bit. Smokey finish. Not all the hype that I was hoping. Its good but not 99 points good.

Couldn't detect much on the nose (it was a cold pour) but all in all a fantastic beer. Can't believe I've gone this far without having it.

A FINE example of a BA Stout. Received from Jason in a trade! Shared with friends. Small snifters. We let it warm before pouring. Solid very dark, opaque pour with a mocha thin head. Aroma was powerful roasted malts, oak barrel, vanilla, spices and slight booze. The taste was amazing with balanced roasted malts, oak barrel, alcohol, vanilla, and slight peat. Thick mouth with a full body. Finish is a little dark chocolate, oak and booze (but not overly boozy.) Need to get another one and soon!

True to form barrel aged stout. Dark color and heady aroma without an overpowering of bourbon. Taste is smooth and easy from start to finish.

Corked bottle from Sendiks in Brookfield, cellar aged 18 months; shared with ck1 and my other brother. Pours black and chunky. Aroma has chocolate, molasses and oatmeal, with whiskey and light soy. Taste is of bittersweet chocolate, espresso/roast, soy and some molasses. A bit rough. Some alcohol. Full bodied. Finishes bittersweet and strong. I liked this one!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Corked & Caged 750 ml Bottle of 2013 Vintage (#2598/3000). Black coffee pour with a half-inch of sudsy tan foam. Strong presence of bourbon, charred malt, dark sugars and cocoa nibs in the aroma. Taste starts with a heavy dose of roasted malt, dark chocolate syrup and bourbon followed by notes of vanilla, molasses, dark fruits and toffee. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and slightly syrupy with moderate carbonation. Finish delivers a final blast of charred oak and dark chocolate malt. Lots of complexity from the barrel aging although a little goes a long way.
