Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

Dark brownish red with some orangey red highlights. Faint chocolatey? malt smell. Taste is malty sweetness of a slight chocolate bent with enough bitterness in the finish to balance it out. Creamy, full feel.

bottle @ Johnís Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Clear very dark ruby brown color, persistent tan head cover, bands of lace. Taste is dry roasted malt, like chalk on the tongue. It adds earth and light spice in the palate before turning to light hops to finish. I would never guess thus was a brown ale - more like a porter or stout.

Pours clear brown with some pale brown head. Nose is chocolates, caramels, breads, biscuits, toasty, and maybe some flowery notes as well. Flavor is similar, semi-sweet finish, balanced and delicious. Very good and drinkable.

On draft at Sanfordís Pub and Grub in Cheyenne, WY. The beer is dark chestnut with a thin beige collar. Malty aroma with notes of dark fruit, brown bread. Smooth and pretty light bodied on the palate. A mild sweetness throughout, finishing with a delicate hop note. Pretty good.

12 oz. bottle from notes (also on draft a couple times) from backlog notes. Pours a clear brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have some mild roasted malts, caramel, some chocolate, nutty character, some earthy hops toward the finish. Pretty tasty brown that is almost a porter.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 3/13/2014. Pours crystal clear deep reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toast, toffee, brown sugar, nuttiness, light roast, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toast, toffee, brown sugar, nuttiness, light roast, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toast, toffee, brown sugar, light nuttiness, light roast, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop flavors; with great robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice brown ale. All around good robustness and balance of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Great brown ale with a creamy texture. A malty beer but not too sweet. The aroma has just a hint of spice. drawback is you can only get it in Oklahoma in a bottle, It is much better out of the keg/ or at the brewery in which I would rate it a 4.8

(Draft at Glacier Park Lodge) Dark brown body with small white head. Roasted malt aroma, some medium roast coffee. Flavor adds some mild bitterness; good acidity. Drinkable and thirst quenching, not very sweet. Medium body, velvety mouthfeel.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a bit of a light brown head. Smells predominately of caramel, chocolate and malt. Those follow to taste, along with a bit of plum and raisin. Just a little hops bitterness. Medium light mouth with some carbonation. A nice beer. Nothing wrong with it, but fairly unremarkable.
