COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

Flavors of brown sugar, roast malt, dried fruit. Translucent brown with a thin tan head. Somewhat sweet up front; malty mid palate; very little hopping. Thin-medium body. Unremarkable.

Can't get much crisper of a taste & more of a sweet & hardy malt flavor than this beer. Quite possibly one of the best (at least one of my favorite) brown ales. Might not be my favorite style if beer, but definitely one of the best in the category. Definite tastes of caramel, browned crystal malts & dates. Fairly smooth with a well blended alcohol, even thorough it's not a ton, being 5.1%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours coffee colored mahogany with a light tan head. Smell sweet light roast. Taste nutty sweet and a hint of coco and coffee. Light body. Good.

Pours a dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Has an aroma of dark chocolate and has a malty, chocolate taste. If this is what moose drool tastes like, I want a pet moose.

Rating from 2010: Sehr schönes Elch-Etikett, Bier mit dunkelbrauner Farbe. --> 13/13/12/13

12 oz bottle. Pours a thin dark ruby. The head is a little thin, but leaves a decent lace on the glass. The aroma is a bit of chocolate, some coffee, and a little roasted malt, and not much else. The taste is a little heavier on the chocolate, but the coffee fades and the roast is a little less intense. The flavors hang around pretty decently, and it's not a bad brown ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer pours great with a nice dark brown color that passes very little light through it, a great off white one finger head and decent lacing on the glass. The beer smells good with a full bodied, robust, roasted malt, nutty, coffee smell to it, the coffee seems to be the trailer and lingers around. The taste is great with a nice roasted malt, coffee flavor...you lose a little of the nutty flavor but seems to have a hint of caramel and chocolate to it in its sted. The mouthfeel is decent with flavorful coffee flavor and great carbonation. Overall, this beer was traded to me and came highly recommended from several people...I am not a coffee guy so it doesnt appeal to me but it has a great blended flavor that lasts.

Pours dark brown and clear with a medium off white head. Aroma is nutty with some raw molasses and maybe a little yeast - very rich aroma. Taste is smooth, nutty, and actually well balanced. All the flavors complement one another. There is a quick bitterness in the mid palate that immediately smooths out to really mellow malts. Like it.

Draught at Tap House, Seattle. Dark amber/brown shade with a thin cream cap. I pick up a bold hoppiness in the aroma and a dose of coffee. More of a malty sweet taste with coffee and nuts balanced out by some hop bitterness. Not hugely exciting but solid stuff.
