Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

Sample flight at Painted Horse in Bartlesville, OK. Ruby-brown color with off-white head. Aroma of heavy malt roastiness, grainy, caramel, light chocolate and fruity. Taste adds notes of bread, toffee, dark fruit and earthy hop bitterness. Medium body, moderate-low carbonation, creamy with clean light roast finish. Pretty good brown,

Cool and into a tulip. Now there’s one hell of a sexy beer. Lofty, off-white foam atop a shimmeriing, deepest ruby body with fine, intermittent carbonation. Dusty, topsoil nose; quite earthy and musty with hints of cocoa powder, wood, toffee brittle, carob and kelp. Heavily malted flavour profile. Sticky, sweet toasted and toffeeish front with licks of cola and roasted peanuts mid-palate before a biscuity, woody, chocolate malt and dusty hop finish. This is amazingly good, I guess from what I had anticipated. Body is medium-light with good length of malt in the creamy finish and soft, spritzy effervescence up front. Woody notes are quite pronounced late into drinking and it steers clear of becoming sweet which impressed. A nice, balanced and sessionable Brown ale. Tap. Reminds me of raisinettes. I had to try it because of the name. Somehow it seemed obligatory to drink something with moose in the name out west.

This beer is high in malt flavors, with slight nut undertones. Overall not interesting, and not very good.

Bottle thanks to StephanSD for SSS. Malty, roasty with some toffee and caramel, hint of cream. Mostly clear dark brown with minimal head. Roasty malt, semisweet, some caramel character mild bitterness.

Bottle. Dark cola with some ruby around the edges and a 2 finger tan head. Aroma is roast, chocolate and a little dark fruit. Taste adds a little coconut and citrus. Soft thinnish mouthfeel and relatively strong carb. Very drinkable. A nice surprise.

Nutty flavor with sweet ale notes. A little bit of creosote in the taste. Little bubbles and a medicinal colour. Very nice indeed.

Super good brown ale. Probably my favorite and way better than Newcastle in my opinion. Tastes like chocolate and toasty malts. Very drinkable, like almost dangerous. Really good stuff, and even better on tap!

Can from Mane Liquor. Wasn’t expecting huge things when it came to this but I was pleasantly surprised. Pours hazy dark brown with a small beige head. Pretty straight forward stuff but it’s all pleasing enough - nutty, toffee, biscuit, mild grass, slight resin. Very drinkable. Solid

Brown from bottle. Aroma is mild malt caramel. Taste is very slight - almost tasteless. Overall, quite bland though as it warms something pops out. Definitely for the session heads.
