COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

This is a very pleasant brown ale! Aroma has a multiple notes consisting of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and an underlying hint of spices. Medium carbonation and body, and poured a nice brown color. Overall flavor was full, slightly sweet, roasty, and had fruit elements (particularly cherry).

This brown ale brings out the roasted grains, with a healthy dollop of brown sugar for sweetness. Dark brown with thin beige head, coffee-ish aroma, with some molasses. Taste is first bitter, then sweet, in that order. Finish is abrupt and slightly dry/chalky.

Bottle. Smells of caramel and roasted malts. Tastes roasty with slight hop finish. Very good.

Wonderful smelling from the tap, and an appealing dark brown. Deep sweet burnt sugar notes to the aroma, especially as it begins to warm. The malts are joined by a bit of hop bitterness, but no real hop flavor. A bit thin which was a downer, but overall a pretty good brown ale.

2013 bottle to a pint glass. Pours a medium brown /mahogany with big foamy tan head. Moderate lacing. Aroma is dark malt with chocolate, cherry and some faint spice. Malt dominates at first in the taste with some chocolate and roastiness. Get a little of the cherry and sweetness in the middle. Ends with a faint hops bitterness and a little charred herbal quality. Mouthfeel is thin to medium and slightly dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy deep brown with a thick tan head that has good retention. Aroma’s are nutty and light smoke. Flavors are similar with a solid bready malt backbone. Fairly dark for a brown ale. Good medium++ bodied beer. Drinks nicely with the 5.1% abv. Enjoyable.

Bottle pour into a pint glass for this brew. I’m predisposed to like this since my dog’s name is Moose.

This is a nice malty brown ale that has great flavor and a dry finish. I have had it in bottles a few times and on tap once and I really like it. It is mild like a bitter and made in an English style.

Immediate taste or roasted chocolate. Perfect bitterness which subsides rather quickly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
