Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

Pours light brown with a small head. Nose shows sweet bready malt along with toasty and nutty notes. Similar flavours, sweet bready malt, some light toasty characters.

Not much of an aroma to it. Nice dark brown pour with a respectable brown foamy head (on tap sample). Has a ton of beautiful malt flavours, truly this is one of the best examples of a fresh and crisp malt I have ever had in an ale. A perfectly balanced level of hops help to mellow out the brew and add a nice subtlety.

Can best by March 8, 2015.
Glass: New Belgium globe glass.
Appearance: Hazy garnet hue with a dense and firm tan head.
Aroma: Light fruitiness with hints of caramel and cocoa.
Taste: Mild brown ale with light caramel, cocoa and fruit notes..
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: I was so excited for this, but itís lacking in many ways. Itís not bad, but darn itís more thin and lacking than a brown ale ideally should be.

Good for a brown ale. Just donít really like brown ales. Decent palate bitter finish. Just ok.

Tap: Chestnut brown color, semi-translucent with a slightly soapy beige head, bubbly & quick to fade to a thin collar. Aroma is full of nuts, toasted malts, a touch of earth, & some faint cocoa dust. Flavor is nutty, toasty, malty, semisweet with hints of some leafy hops to help balance out. Light cocoa powder in the finish with a lingering nuttiness. Fairly typical brown ale. Medium bodied, just shy of creamy. Not bad.

The roasted malt flavor comes through in this rich bodied beer. This has been a family favorite for quite some time, having to pick it up on the way home from long road trips, but now much easier to find in local grocery stores. It has become my new summer boat beer with it now being available in cans.

An easy drinking beer, lots of chocolate, caramel, nuts, roastyness and malt in the flavour, with a hint of spiciness and bitterness from the hops. Full mouth feel, not overly carbonated.
