COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

A good looking beer in my mug. A rich "cola" brown with a nice tan head and awesome lacing. A malty aroma with a hint of coffee? Smooth malty taste, not much in the way of hops. Finishes smooth with a brief dark chocolate aftertaste. Not in my personal wheelhouse, but really a good beer.

Can. Pours a cola brown colour with a fluffy off white head. Nice treacle/spice aroma with a very nice sweet toffee flavour with some spice/herb notes.

Rated based on notes taken 11 May 2012 -- Great brown. One of the best malty examples around.

12 oz pour from refrigerated bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a pleasant one-finger off-white head. Moderate retention and a bit of lacing. Opaque and dark brown to black. Nose is nutty and malty, though not too heavy. Medium body. Taste is fairly malty with some nuttiness, a little smoke, and a little woodiness. A tiny bit of hops on the end. Pretty dry. A little watery to me. Not too complex of a beer. An easy drinking dark beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours a dark amber with a smallish off white head. Smells of caramel, smoked meat and sweet molasses. Tastes of caramel, hint of smokiness, and little else. Body is medium to light and finish is medium. Goes down easy. Session beer.

On draft at the Flying Saucer on the Lake. Poured a clear brown with a tan head and some lacing. Taste of caramel malts, roasted malts and slight chocolate. Lively carbonation, medium body.

A decent average brown ale. Pretty dark in the glass. Nice 1 finger tan head. The nose was mild malt. Taste was also a mild malt but with a hint of hops on the finish. I found it a little watery. I wouldn’t turn it down if it was offered to me.

4/5/15 (Bottle) - Dark brown pour, thick generous tan head, minimal carbonation. Roast malt aroma with a hint of caramel. Very smooth and pleasant beer to drink, nice roasted malt taste, not very high ABV but nice kick. Very good offering.

Has beautiful brown color with white coffee colour of head that unfortunately while thick and big at beginning disappears very quickly. It has mild carbonation which in this case helps the ale by making it very smooth to drink. Taste of toasted malts with hints of caramel and chocolate. Bready malt after taste with little bitterness. Really enjoyed it.

12 oz bottle from Whole Foods. Nose is bland, a little yeast and not much else. Taste of toasted malts with hints of caramel and chocolate. Smooth with mild carbonation. Bready malt aftertaste with little bitterness. Mildly sweet which makes it session-able. Over all, an enjoyable brown ale.
