COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

Roasted barley with hints of coffee on the nose. Pours a clear brown with a nice toasted barley flavor with hints of caramel and cocoa. has a pleasant yet subtle lingering hoppiness on the back of your tongue. A very nice brown ale, will definitely buy again.

Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale has a thick, spongy, beige head and a semi-clear, reddish-brown appearance, with minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet brown bread crust and a touch of tea, and the flavor is of tea, bread crust, sweetness, light cocoa powder, and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Moose Drool finishes dry, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, this is very good. RJT

Mostly white with a golden hint head but really dark color. Sweet aroma but only after the first pour. Carmel- toffee start with nutty and copper aftertaste. Pretty sweet. Literally and metaphorically. Love me browns. Awesome but not a strong finish. I’d like to eat this with cheese for some reason. Maybe I’m just craving cheese but that’s what I’m getting. I’m drinking this out of can into glass but I would love to try it on tap.

Appearance: dark brown with mahogany highlights, two fingrs of creamy, light tan head. Aroma: chocolate, toast, soy sauce, leather, caramel, a bit of molasses. Taste: malty and slightly sweet, with chocolate, toffee, some toasted nuts, and a bit of earthy hops underneath. Finish: a creamy but light palate lingers, with toasty, nutty malts well-balanced by the hops to keep it light. Notes: Great brown ale. Looks, smells, and tastes like a big, thick beer, but the palate is a delight, making this extremely drinkable. A new favorite; too bad I can’t get it locally.

On tap, pours brown with a medium off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of chocolate, caramel, toffee and nuts, tastes of all the same things. Mouthfeel is light and somewhat watery with decent carbonation. Like someone mentioned in a previous review it reminds me of a peanutbutter cup in beer form. It’s definitely one of the more unique brown ales on the market.

Bottle, pours milk-chocolate brown with small tannish head. Slight transparency. A touch of hazelnut on the nose, chocolate malt, light roast coffee. Creamy mouthfeel, cocoa and fresh nutty tones. Really good, so easy to drink.

Tasty beer, slightly sweet, but not heavy for a brown ale. Good summertime choice--no bitterness.

cherry-ish fruit, caramel and roasted aroma. Nice balance of malt flavors (sweet, toffee, a little roasty) plus a fruity flavor that’s similar to the aroma.

Pleasant aroma on this brew. Smells of cocoa nibs, malt, and a nutty hint of hops. Dark brown with a reddish hint against the light. Flavor is sweet mostly with some hoppy bitterness in the trail off. Medium body, ample carbonation. Very nice brown ale.

Pours an opaque brown with an active tan head that dies to a ring, some minor lace flecks. Nose is mainly sweet mealtimes. Tastes again sweet and malty.
