COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

On tap, pours brown with a medium off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of chocolate, caramel, toffee and nuts, tastes of all the same things. Mouthfeel is light and somewhat watery with decent carbonation. Like someone mentioned in a previous review it reminds me of a peanutbutter cup in beer form. It’s definitely one of the more unique brown ales on the market.

Smells nutty... bit of carmel. Very dark brown in color, baby white head. Taste is smooth, nutty, and buttery with a slight bitterness at the end. A mighty fine ale!

355ml brown bottle. As "Moo Drool". Amber/brown, clear, nice beige foam. Aromas of nut, caramel and chocolate. Flavours of chocolate, caramel, nuts, a little bitterness. Soft mouthfeel. Highly enjoyable and very drinkable brown ale.

A classic brown ale with a gimmicky name. This beer transports me to Montana despite never having seen a moose. Tasty.

Poured a clear coppery brown with a one- to two-finger light tan foamy head that diminished slowly to a collar but laced well. Carbonation light and medium sized. Aroma of sweet but mild malts with hints of roasting. taste of sweet caramel malts with very low hops bitterness. Light body. Smooth and sweet on the finish.

Pours amber with light ivory head. Aroma is nutty, nibs, caramel, loads of malt. Taste is smoky, the caramel malts and the cocoa. It’s a good offering. Brown ales aren’t really my gig, but I’d drink it again.

UXO (757) - CANADA - JUN 5, 2015
Pours clear amber-brown with one finger of tight tan head, good retention and patchy lacing. (3/5) Nose is roasty malt, caramel, molasses, nutty, light smoke. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, mild bitter. (7/10) Medium to light body, moderate carbonation, medium duration finish. (3/5) Quite a drinkable brown. Light smoke is somewhat reminiscent of a rauchbier, without being intrusive. Malt dominant, of course, but there is a small hop bitterness keeping the sweetness under control. That, along with the light body tending to the watery, would probably make it easy to session. (14/20)

Brown-reddish, off white head, nice lacing and mild head retention. Caramel, mild roast, and mild earth note aroma. Medium bodied, sweet caramel malt, mild roast, mild dark fruit, and watery finish. Decent balance, refreshing dry notes, and lite bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
