Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale

Dark brown-amber pour leaving a light brown creamy head that mostly dissipates into light lacings. A roasted malted aroma with touch of light carmel hoppiness. Roasted hint of dark malt and slight hop flavors. Right balance of flavors, carbonation and finish makes this one my favorite of the Big Sky brews I have sampled.

Roasted malty aromaand flavors. Sweet with a little brown sugar. Light palate, short duration and low carbonation. Fairly typical brown ale.

Pours a deep fairly dark brown color with a bit of a reddish hue and a nice pillow off-white head. Aroma is very nutty and malty with some strong roasted notes. There is a surprising bit of spiciness that I detected as well. Flavor starts off nicely malty and very much about the roasted quality. A bit of a spiciness in the middle that had some bitterness as well. The finish isn’t great but it isn’t unpleasant. Medium body and medium carbonation. Good brown ale but fairly middle of the pack, maybe a little better than middle.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head, and some lacing on the glass. Roasted malt aroma with an off metallic note. Flavor similar, with roasted malt, some coffee notes, and a metallic off taste. Seemed a little thin. Just didn’t impress me all that much.

dark brown beer with a small creamy tan head. nutty, malty, light creamy coffee aroma. palate is chalky and creamy. flavors of nuts, coffee with cream. good flavor, great palate.
