COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

pretty much exactly how iíd imagine making out with a moose would taste like. light, brown nectar. real thin brew, not thick or heavy at all. for some reason was really enjoying it this way even though i usually like thicker brewz. easy to drink!

Good toasty nutty malty smell. Pours opaque brown, light brown head. Taste is mild sweet with moderate bitter, more toast, caramel, and nutty malts. Good.

Good brown from big sky. Honestly my first micro love in the early 2000s. Still a great beer.

Sampled from a bottle purchased at CVS in San Antonio. Pours a dark brown with only slight head - rather under-carbonated. Pleasant slightly sweet, creamy taste with hints of toasted malts and a slightly nutty flavour. Pleasant malty aroma. Some hop flavour to balance the sweetness, but not much bitterness. Slightly stronger than a typical British example. This is a really nice, easy-drinking brown ale. Very pleasant.

Weak pour but contains a sweet malty nose that is pleasant. Some chocolate notes. Decent balance of toasty malts and a light hoppy bitterness. Realizing Iím not a big fan of this style in general.

Aroma is licorice, molasses and medium roasted mts and slight floral hops. Taste is extremely rich, almost chewy malts with notes similar to aroma. Appearance is an orange amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.

Pours light brown with a small head. Nose shows sweet bready malt along with toasty and nutty notes. Similar flavours, sweet bready malt, some light toasty characters.

Not much of an aroma to it. Nice dark brown pour with a respectable brown foamy head (on tap sample). Has a ton of beautiful malt flavours, truly this is one of the best examples of a fresh and crisp malt I have ever had in an ale. A perfectly balanced level of hops help to mellow out the brew and add a nice subtlety.
