Another good brew from Big Sky, surprised it was a winter seasonal. Good ABV too.

This ale screams winter time. It has vanilla notes and a bit of bite to war you up on a cold day. This beer quickly jumped big on my list of winter favorites.

I thought this was pretty terrible. The aroma is of that of a soured IPA. The flavor is just not tasty. Crisp yet sour and icky.

Sweet, spicy and floral nose. Tases about the same, a bit grainy and sweet up front, but the weird spicy/floral hops do a good job of balancing the overall impression.

Woody hop aroma and flavor is somehow more lumber than forest. More grapefruit and caramel sweetness comes through as it warms up.

Clear copper with a sudsy beige head. Spotty lacing. Aroma of grass, bread, resin, and citrus. Taste is bitter and bready. Medium bodied. Nice. I like the above average hop aspect of this warmer.

12 ounce bottle. In line with the name, this beer is best served thoroughly chilled in order to blunt the flavor of sweetened esters and alcohol. It’s fairly light in body, amber colored, and it has only trace amounts of bubble movement within the glass. It cuts through sobriety like a dull, rusted spoon. In other words it tastes strong and nasty, but it’s below average in abv impact for the style. It makes me excited for the end of winter.
