Powder Hound is our Winter Ale, and since it is our own creation we call it a Northern Rockies Strong Ale. Powder Hound satisfies, with the fine hand selected British hops fully complimenting the smooth malt notes. After a day on the ice or in the snow, enjoy a Powder Hound Winter Ale. Available November through March. ABV varies from 6.0% to 7.5%

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of toasted malt, light carmel and toffee and a hint of chocolate. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of toasted malt, toffee and a hint of chocolate with a smooth dry finish.

Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (flowers), average yeast (dough) with notes of toffee and dates. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Short duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
