12oz botle pours a clear orange with some lacing, white head. Nose is nice, some cracker, some rye, some orange, bread crust, mild soap, some herbs. Flavor is good, sweet malt, honey, orange, pine sap, soap, mild herb, some spruce. Mostly clean, herbal finish. Not bad.

Gold pour with off white head and lace. Light citrus, orange peel, with light bread. Some earthy hops I thnk. Dry caramel malt, orange zest, nice finishing bitter. A bit thin and fizzy.

Fairly dark amber wth a small tan colored head. The aroma is green beans along with some bread dough and a hint of overripe apples. The taste has a full light cinnamon bread along with some hints of pears. A very nice and well balanced EPA. This is an ideal session ale.

kramer (5108) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2006
12 oz bottle, via Indiana_Red. Pours a clear mahogany with a amall, fine-bubbled, off-white head. Low citric hop aroma over a sweet toffee and caramel malt base. Accent notes of tea and perfumy hops. Very fruity and malty flavor with a lightly bitter finish. A little too sweet for my tastes. Medium bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and pleasant low carbonation composed of fine bubbles. Not a bad beer, but nothing outstanding. Overall, itís pretty sweet with an alcoholic kick that gets a little tiring on the palate by the end of the bottle.

Taste: Malty, grassy with a smooth pine bitterness in the finish
A nice beer.

Bottle: Courtesy of DarkElf via trade. Malty aroma of caramel and toffee with a touch of hops and metal. Pours a very dark amber with a decent off-white head with some staying power. Flavor is a watery caramel up front and some light chocolate in the middle. Finishes with some weak nutty metallic hops. Rather mediocre if you ask me.

Bottle (thanks, Jake!). Malty, slightly sweet aroma with notes of caramel and cherry, possibly a little toast. Clear red body with a lacing, creamy tan head. Bittersweet. Big, big body with lots of malt and notes of cherry, toffee, toast, caramel, and just a smidgen of salty licorice. Nutty with a slight wine quality. Wee molasses with indeterminate spice (nutmeg?) far in the bg. Very dry and lightly bitter aftertaste. Alcohol is nowhere apparent. Pleasant sipper, I would take this again any day. Well, not Dark Lord Day.

This beer pours a clear honey golden with a thin pasty head. Almost no carbonation to be seen. Amazingly small aroma but the flavor is much bigger and more aggressive. Big malts with significant hop notes. Citrus fruit is both sweet and tart. Soft caramel. There is a bit of cinnamon spice and some metal. To me this was craft beer meets high gravity.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2005 A good beer just needs more malt, hops and time. This was just not a great winter warmer. Some people say to give it time to gain flavor I think this beer is missing itís winter flavor and will never gain it. I am hoping this is just a bad bottle.

12oz. Bottle: Gusher. Aroma of malts, spices, raisins, nuts, and light caramel. Poured amber/copper/orange in color with a dense, off-white, medium-sized head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malts, dark ripe fruits, prunes, toasted malts, light burnt malts, light burnt caramel, burnt sugar, slight hops, and a hint of smoke. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malty, burnt caramel, burnt dark ripe fruit finish is slightly sticky.
