Bottle courtesy of hopdog! Ruby body with a small tan head. Nose is malty and fruity with caramel notes, rich toffee, dark fruits, and brown sugar. It almost smells like a dessert. Canít place my finger on it, though. Taste is malty and slightly floral. Some caramel and toffee notes along with ripened fruits and soft nutty flavors. Body is creamy and smooth. Mild carbonation with an overall medium feel. Finishes with more caramel, bigger fruit notes, light hops, light toffee and toasty malts. Touch of brown sugar as well. Nice!

On Firkin tap at The Front Door Boise, Pours out a amber topped with a sand head. Aroma light malt. Tast more of the malt a touch hops for the bitterness. Not bad but not a strong winter ale.

12 oz bottle, via Indiana_Red. Pours a clear mahogany with a amall, fine-bubbled, off-white head. Low citric hop aroma over a sweet toffee and caramel malt base. Accent notes of tea and perfumy hops. Very fruity and malty flavor with a lightly bitter finish. A little too sweet for my tastes. Medium bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and pleasant low carbonation composed of fine bubbles. Not a bad beer, but nothing outstanding. Overall, itís pretty sweet with an alcoholic kick that gets a little tiring on the palate by the end of the bottle.

Gold pour with off white head and lace. Light citrus, orange peel, with light bread. Some earthy hops I thnk. Dry caramel malt, orange zest, nice finishing bitter. A bit thin and fizzy.

12oz bottle. Thick amber brown color. Patchy, soapy head. Ambery sweet caramel aroma, screams old to me. The taste seems the same, some deep faded amber malt and cinnamon sweetness. Poor job of covering the alcohol. Scotch ale with some unpleasant pungent sourness...in a bad way. I hope this is just my punishment for drinking a Winter beer in later April.

Aroma and flavor is mildly sweetish caramel malts and a decent hoppiness in finish. Pretty good ale, easy to drink but with a decent thickness and body.

Malt and caramel aromas. Very dark orange with a head that lasts. More malt and caramel in the taste. Seems like an English strong without being ruined by alcohol flavors.

Clear light copper coloured body with a honey golow and a nice, thick dense off-white head with a nice lace leftover. Aroma of strong, bright citrus and grapefruit hops, yeast, apricots, coriander seed, curacao, honey and some pungent malt - very nice indeed. Medium-bodied; Biting hop flavour at first with a good malt backbone, some light yeast flavours, a touch of bright sweetness and a little alcohol flavour near the end. Good yeast and honey flavours to finish it off and a little light hoppiness in the aftertaste. Overall, a good beer - not too strong and not too weak, but a good beer for the season and a variation from the typical, roasted malt beer during this time of the year - nice! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 16-January-2011 for US$2.59 sampled at home in Washington on 12-March-2011.

Clear orange amber color with a lasting light golden/tan head. Aroma of light malt, anise, and stomach acid. Slightly sour orange flavors, along with mild malt. Very sour/bitter finish makes you want to drink something else.
