12oz bottle. Fairly average offering that did not leave much of an impression. In fact I do not remember any details about this one other than it was drinkable but nothing special.

Aroma pine and floral. Flavor is bread and pine . Medium body. Good drinkable beer. Has quite a hoppy kick to it.

I was not expecting the hoppiness of this beer, and as I am not particularly fond of hoppy beers I will not be drinking it again. I imagine it would get more positive reviews if the labeling was more informative. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. The look is clear, beige ok head, and copper colored. The smell hops, pine, malts, caramel, and sweet. The taste is chewy, sweet, caramel, hops, and alcohol.

Woody hop aroma and flavor is somehow more lumber than forest. More grapefruit and caramel sweetness comes through as it warms up.

Not huge on winter ales so it's hard to rate within the style. Balanced and not overpowered by the fruity spice of winters. Still not entirely remarkable.

Decent and easy to drink. Sweet malty aroma with a slight citrusy bitterness. Clear amber color with a white head. Good carbonation and relatively light palate. This was a hoppier English ale. Caramel sweetness that mellowed the beer but with a distinct hops bitterness on the finish that dried it out. Good but not your typically winter brew.

Solid winter ale. I like the lightness foot versus all the hes drier winter varieties. Has a bit of hopiness but great flavor for the season ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 13, 2002
Clear deep copper with a thin but solid tightly packed light tan head. Steady carbonation. Deep caramel, toffee aroma with some light wet cardboard. Light roastedness as well. Medium body. Decent burnt caramel maltiness. Dry, metallic edge. Lightly hopped (earthy). Initial malt flavor is there when you sip, then it fades into a ’badly burnt walnut’ aftertaste. Head remains solid, as does the carbonation. Body thickens slightly as it sits and warms but...this isn’t clicking. Not bad for an English Pale Ale but this is a very weak winter effort, especially coming from Montana.

Pours a deep mahogany color with nice head and decent lacing for the style. The aroma is very light with a musty hop presence to it. The flavor was pretty assertive compared to the aroma, large hop presence with a citrus/pine finish. The finish lasted a little too long though, made the mouth feel slightly dirty. This wasn't that great of an EPA and an even worse winter ale.
