Clear light copper coloured body with a honey golow and a nice, thick dense off-white head with a nice lace leftover. Aroma of strong, bright citrus and grapefruit hops, yeast, apricots, coriander seed, curacao, honey and some pungent malt - very nice indeed. Medium-bodied; Biting hop flavour at first with a good malt backbone, some light yeast flavours, a touch of bright sweetness and a little alcohol flavour near the end. Good yeast and honey flavours to finish it off and a little light hoppiness in the aftertaste. Overall, a good beer - not too strong and not too weak, but a good beer for the season and a variation from the typical, roasted malt beer during this time of the year - nice! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 16-January-2011 for US$2.59 sampled at home in Washington on 12-March-2011.

On tap at Wheatberry. Pours an amber orange with a thin eggshell head. Nose of herbal tea, earthy hops with some toffee and caramel notes. Mostly sweet with some bitterness attempting to balance. Lighter side of medium bodied, softer carb, with an earthy bitter finish. Decent brew, somewhat low-key, not super balanced, but easy to drink.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish-gold with white head. Taste floral, fruity, sweet. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep amber-orange colour, nice malt depth at first with a bitter finish. A heady winter ale.

This is being bottled in Portland, Oregon now so maybe thatís why I was able to get it in late September. Anyways, at first I wasnít sure if I like it, but after it warmed up for a minute (open) the flavor profile started to improve. If there are any special spices in there, they donít come out. Frankly, some of the winter beers out there are over spiced. The head could have lasted a little longer, but there was a tad bit of foam there. Nice amberish color. I would buy this again. NO! Make that, I WILL buy this again.

Thick head, rich brown color. Molasses nose, some steelyness. Creamy start with fruit, carmel, chocolate and some hops. Well balanced, not a bad winter session beer.

Fairly dark amber wth a small tan colored head. The aroma is green beans along with some bread dough and a hint of overripe apples. The taste has a full light cinnamon bread along with some hints of pears. A very nice and well balanced EPA. This is an ideal session ale.

Deep mahagoney color with brownish hues and a tan head. The aroma is a mild caramel malt sweetness. Light - medium bodied. Not overwhelming but sweet toffee, caramel, and malt flavors. Lacking in any punch at the finish. However, a pleasant winter ale.
