Pygmy Owl is an IPA with full fledged hop taste and aroma, yet is remarkably low in alcohol. In fact, it clocks in at only 4.2% ABV. An IPA with full flavor, but without the harsh bitterness. And the best part, you can have more than one without getting that drunkied up feeling.
Availability: February-April

On draft at Tap 25. I think this one is under rated. Maybe thatís because I dig low gravity, lightly hopped beers. Anyway, this one pours a very clear yellow color with a small white head. The aroma has fresh honeydew melon, a little grapefruit and passionfruit. Mild, but pleasant. The flavor has some stronger notes of passionfruit, a little mango and grape. Clean tasting and not too bitter. Nice stuff.

Not a bad IPA. Rather usual and customary for an IPA. Decent hops in the nose and finish. A sweet body in the middle. Light on the alcohol.

I canít really make out anything here. The aroma is okay. I get a little bit of grassiness and fruit. Thatís not saying much. Taste is seriously like an adjunct lager meets a bottle of fruit juice. It tastes weird an fake. It feels like it was forced. Itís okay but itís honestly nothing great. Itís kind of bitter and I want to love this because Montana has some special meaning to me but this just is so meh I donít know what else to say.

Iím not gonna hate on it too much. It was pretty weak but grew on me. A little. Watery feel with a weaker than wanted grassy citric pine hop profile, and no malt. Thereís better session iPas everywhere these days

pale yellow, no foam at all left after short minute. Aroma is leathery, not pleasant. Light bitter taste, barley aftertaste. (Houston 201408)

Pours a light golden color with a white head. Hop, citrus, floral, honey and malt aroma and flavors. Light body and carbonation with a floral finish.

Pours a golden color. Aroma and taste are pine and citrus. Mildly bitter finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellowish straw color with very little head. Aromas of paper, pork rinds, pineapple and straw. Light flavors of grass, melons, pineapple and cardboard. A good attempt, but seems like a good IPA cut with an industrial lager.

A dirty golden color with a froth white head. Balanced hop and malt aromas. Smooth hops that get balanced by the malt and then rinse clean. Very refreshing and smooth great body that rinses surprisingly clean.

Itís getting harder and harder to find a new (to me) IPA on the shelves during this Session IPA fad-craze-whatever now that the weather is warm. T^his one pours a pale yellow body filled with bubbles, all under a skinny near film of a head. It smells purdy, grapefruit and lemon zest with a faint pale malt sweetness. The body seems a bit watery. It tastes lemony with a weak malt sweetness and really is lacking in bitterness until the finish, and then itís fairly faint. This had a promising beginning, but kind of fizzled out.
