COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pygmy Owl is an IPA with full fledged hop taste and aroma, yet is remarkably low in alcohol. In fact, it clocks in at only 4.2% ABV. An IPA with full flavor, but without the harsh bitterness. And the best part, you can have more than one without getting that drunkied up feeling.
Availability: February-April

12oz picked up a while back... I forget where I found it, but a fair number of places have it available now... Pours a pale straw... decent enough white head with spotty lacing.. Nose shows biscuity malt with bunches of lemony and grassy hops.. Flavor strikes me as a pretty heavy wheat/pale maltiness for anything labeled close to an IPA... but the bitterness balances pretty well and a good amount of light citrus and herbal/lite pine hops come in and make this very drinkable. Light body... good carbonation.. plenty of flavor... Pretty darn nice.

Clear straw pale color. Nice piney hop kick and a little grass on the nose. Taste is clean and easy, a good outdoor summer beer. No weird aftertastes or off flavors. There are better session IPA’S out there but this is good.

Originally rated on 9/10/14. Pours a pale straw colored body, white head with spotty lacing.Aroma of bready malts with hints lemon and grassy hops. Flavor of wheat, bread, and faint lemon hops. Watery mouthfeel, mild hops finish. Overall its middle of the pack for session IPA’s.

Bottle. I thought this was a decent session IPA. There was plenty of hop flavor and bitterness. A tad too much astringency in the aftertaste, but drinkable overall.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is lightly hoppy, with a bit of floral and earth tones to it. Taste is light and fresh and clean, a bit bitter, and really easy to drink. I’d happily drink this all day.

12oz bottle pours a clear pale golden with a large off-white head. Fruity hop aroma and light caramel malt. Simple fruity hops and caramel malt, light copper on finish. Forgettable.

Draft. Gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of pink grapefruit, sour peach candies, and cut grass. Similar profile in the mouth, but with a sharper white grapefruit component and a bit of light malt creeping in. Light bodied with a sharp bitterness. Delicate and drinkable.
