Mid black, dark mahogony brown in the light with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edges.
Roast malt nose, varnish, molasses, toffee, liqourice.
Tastes of lightly roasted malts, touch of chocolate, light hops, toffee.
Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation.

Bottle from Nugget Market in Vacaville, CA. Sign said it was the first time this was in California! Black color with a three finger light tan head. Aromas of smooth toasted/burnt malt and a little coffee. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt malt and a little coffee. Finish is a bit astringent.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is smooth, with oats, light cocoa and a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is smooth and restrained, with oats and a touch of very dry cocoa. Not a whole lot going on here, but it’s sure smooth and drinkable.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown wiuth a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and light carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, cocoa and light coffee with a smooth lingering coffee finish.
