Dark brown to black hued. Faint whif of coffee. A little hoppy and too light, roasted coffee, overly carbonated. A little disappointing.

12 oz single bottle from Wilbur’s Total Beverage. Almost black in appearance with a tan head and light lacing. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, light coffee and light chocolate. Similar flavor, adding a hint of molasses. Light to medium body, a little thin on the palate. OK.

12oz brown bottle. The colour is dark brown with dark red highlighting. the head has a tight bead and sits low in the glass. Nose has chocolate, roast, coffee and porridge. Taste - chocolate, light roast and lots of oat. Dry finish with not much going on. Very creamy and excellent mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle, part of the World Market winter 9 bottle mix pack, courtesy of my in-laws. Bottle marked 224144 121014. It appears this is best before December 10, 2014. The pour is a darker brown with a smaller tan head that lasts. The aroma is oatmeal, soft nut, sweet malt and some faint roast. The taste is the oatmeal, nut sweet malt and roast of the nose with added pine hop present. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft carbonation and the roast pine mineral finish. Solid.

Draft sample at Gravity - pours a murky brown . Soft medium roast aroma . Faint chocolate and coffee flavor . Ok but a little weak for the style . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is smooth, with oats, light cocoa and a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is smooth and restrained, with oats and a touch of very dry cocoa. Not a whole lot going on here, but it’s sure smooth and drinkable.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 12/10/2014. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, toasted oats, light coffee, brown bread, herbal, floral, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, toasted oats, light coffee, brown bread, herbal, floral, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, toasted oats, light coffee, brown bread, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and complexity of dark/roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice oatmeal stout style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. Not as bold as some other oatmeal stouts; but still very well rounded and nicely enjoyable in flavors.

Pours a dark black with some ruby shining through when held up to light. The head is moderate sized and khaki. The aroma is roasted malts and maybe some chocolate. The taste is very similar to the aroma. Very mild hop presence. There is some sweetness to this beer but not overpowered. Perfectly balanced oatmeal stout!

Nice oatmeal stout here! Pours a very dark brown with a small, tan head. A dark beer I could drink all night long...but would have a big headache in the morning with the 5.4% alcohol content. Anyway, a winner!!!

Dark reddish brown to black and almost opaque. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut, and a little bit of ginger bread. Taste of chocolate, roasted dark malt, and nuts. Many beers like this have coffee or dark chocolate bitterness, but it’s very subtle in this beer. Texture is a bit creamy and medium bodied.
