Bottle shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. 2008 vintage, bottle 580. Pours murky amber with a large pillowy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of big toffee malts, faint cherries and other fruits. The taste is cherries, earthy notes and a tart finish. Good beer. 4600th rating!

Bottle:   Deep caramel, dirty, pinkish hued, moderate frothy off-white head, dies quickly, clumpy lacing.   Some sediment seems to be floating about.   Alcoholic nose, slight cherry, a little mealy and barnish.   On the tongue its very warning, not real biting but the cherry sweetness is pretty strong.   Somewhat mealy, cherry is immature on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems fairly smooth, albeit its fairly warming with an assertive alcohol presense.   Finish almost nears cherry cough syrup like qualities, but backs off before it becomes too much.   Getting some cherry like tootsie roll on the finish.   Tiz okay, but not all that interesting in my book.

2008 bottle (88 of 2028). Pours a blood orange color with a quick fizzy off white head that countinues to fizz. Aroma is fruity caramel and farmhouse with maybe some slight cherries in the nose, very candied. Taste is very interesting to say the least. I get cough syrup and sweet and tart rotten cherries with plenty of yeast with caramel malt flavors. Palate is tons of carbonation and ends sticky and dry. I dont know about this one.

This beer was a bit disappointing. I really did not have specific expectations, however I found it on the back of a shelf at a great beer store and was not sure what to expect in the first place. Average.

2008 version, bottle 1702 of 2028. Well, its rare. And it’s calls itself smoove instead of smooth. So it’s got that going for it. but, uh, this was odd. There was a weird metallic or medicinal note throughout, and the cherry flavor was too understated. A little too cough syrupy for my tastes.

750ml bottle #322 of 2028. Rating #77. Dark reddish/pink color with a very light pink head and it was a decent little Fisher when I opened it, it also had a good amount of yeast under the cap and in the top of the neck which is strange considering it was never on its side since I’ve had the bottle. Aroma was a little bready with a light cherry aroma.sweet cherry flavor, but with a little wet cardboard mixed in there, the cherry flavor was almost like diluted cherry juice, it wasn’t horrible but it also wasn’t great. 750ml bottle poured into my Narke glass. 2008 batch, bottle # 1389 of 2028...Pours a dark blood red, borders on a brown. A big spongey tan/pink head good retention and lacing...The aroma is super weird, it smells like vanilla cake with cherry frosting, and as good as that sounds, just doesn’t really work for a beer...The taste is borderline horrendous and its really sneaky. It starts off ok light cherries and sugar on the front, then you are bombarded with rotten cherries and carbonation that attacks your senses. 4 sips to tick this is all I can manager. This is really bad and should be avoided!!!! Do not even tick it.

Bottle. Poured a dark orange color with a light reddish tint. Very fizzy pour. Almost like a pouring a ginger ale into a glass. The head acted like a soda also...a few fingers high but fizzled quickly to nothingness. Smelled of caramel, subdued cherry, and a bit of nail polish. Enough nail polish, in fact, that I feel as though this is as close to huffing something as I will ever get. Medium bodied and sweet. A bit too sweet. Mingled cherry and caramel flavors. Fairly effervescent. Not all that pleasant.

(750ml bottle) pours hazy copper with white head. Aroma of cherry medicine. Sweet back bone with some cherry. Ok beer
