COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scape Goat is an American Pale Ale that has English hops for the bittering. The fruitiness (distinctively grapefruit) comes from the domestic hops that are used for the flavor and aroma hop additions. Super Goat is dry hopped with an entirely different domestic hop that lends a juicyfruit (yes, the gum) type of flavor. A lot of fruity and floral essence and flavor with this beer.

Bottle. Clear bronze with a decent white head, thick and dense. Aroma is sweet malt and orange zest, grassy undertones. As I sniff my way through this, as it comes up in temp, I swear I get a creamsicle aroma off and on. Flavour of light sweet malt with a healthy dose of hops, mostly orange rind and bitter bark-like character. Despite the interesting description noted above, I get no real JuicyFruit character, but this was a well done APA that I would reach for again if it were to become available.

Pours a dull copper color with a finger of creamy beige head. Aroma is distinctly fruity, citrus and sweet, as well as piney. I like the citrus and piney hop whallop up front, but it fades quickly. Finishes wet and milder than appreciated. I really like some of this and it has great potential, but as is it weighs in just a little better than average. If I had my choice I’d take the original Scape Goat.

Pours a slightly cloudy amber gold, with long lasting whitish tan head. Aroma of grass and hops. You can taste the blended hops, complex but smooth. A decent American pale ale. Thumbs up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours semi hazy copper/brown with a large creamy white head. Aroma of spicy and floral hop, slightly herbal, some malt. Taste is nice, lots of fruity hop, light bitter finish. This is a mostly sweet beer that is very crisp, nice medium body. There just seems to be a little bit missing from the flavor, too much sweet malt and floral hop, not quite enough earthy or bitter hop for my taste. Still a very solid beer. This seems like it could be awesome with a Brett addition.

Received a 12-oz bottle from the assistant brewmaster during Darkness Day 2011 in Brooklyn Center, MN. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, tropical fruit, some golden grain malt and a touch of grapefruit. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of toasted caramel malt, some grapefruit zest, a hint of Ivory Soap and a touch of tart tropical fruit. Finish is semi-dry, grassy and citrus hop aftertaste that slowly disappears. The tad dry bitterness hides any juicy fruit gum flavors.

Bottle to glass. Bottle received at Surly Darkness. Day Nice citrus and floral aromas. Light caramel/copper color with medium white head. Slight sweetness with a good bitterness to finish. Overall its not a bad beer. Definitely not the best APA I’ve ever had, but far from the worst.

dry hopped in the cask @ papago. lovingly referred to as "super goat". pours/pumps the color of caramel before cream is added to it and is topped by a pillowy white head. lots of soft lacing sticks to the inside of the glass and the ’stache. this smells so floral, sweet and fruity... grapefruit, orange, caramel and wood also noted. flavors of caramel, fresh juicy hops, flowers and a spicy, dry, piney finish. the aftertaste is quite parching and makes me keep going back for more. creamy cask texture... mmm, warm beer...
