This was surprisingly OK. Aroma was sweet pecans, almost like a praline. Color was dark brown with a small head. Palate was creamy with little carbonation. Taste reminded me of the sweetness of a sweet or milk stout. Pecans were present in a nice roasted sense. Good beer but I don’t suggest it with a steak.

Thanks to tizzlejizzle for sharing this growler.
The beer pours a brownish color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of pecan notes, as well as a good dose of caramel and toffee malt. The flavor is similar, with a few added notes. I get some pecan and vanilla notes, as well as some caramel. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

On tap at the Big Texan. Sweet aroma of roasted pecans. Poured a beautiful murky brown with a small white top. Taste is sooo damn good; vanilla, sugar, nutty, pecans, toasted malts, sweet malts, and molasses. Medium carbonation on the palate. I can’t decide which is better, their Whiskey Barrel Stout or this Pecan Porter. Looks like I’ll be getting 2 growlers now lol. Cheers

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy medium brown with a thin head. Aroma of maple, pecan, and sweet malt. Flavor is sweet and maple syrupy up front, followed by nutty pecans, and more sweetness in the finish. Sweet but pretty tasty. An interesting and different porter.

Tap at Big Texan. Pours a slightly hazy brownish orange color. Light carbonation forms a light white head. Aroma is huge nut flavors and fat maple syrup. Sweet aroma. Very lovely smell. Flavor is dry roasted nuts with a slight metallic bitterness but also sports a big maple sweetness. Syrupy flavors and pecans are big players here. Mouthfeel is a tad watery. Overall not bad!
