COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As big as the State of Texas, this stout is brewed with roasted barley and oatmeal for a rich creamy texture then aged in oak with bourbon to impart a woody/bourbon flavor. This is a true sipping beer.

Not bad at all. The aroma had the whiskey essence as well as roasted malts and some sugar. Nice pitch black color with a tan head. Creamy palate with some weight. Nice malt taste that reminded me of a sweet or milk stout and similar to this brewer’s porter. The whiskey was not as prevalent in the taste but still there. Surprisingly good.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has roasted malts and dark grains with some harsh whiskey. Flavor starts quite thin and has dark grains and a bit of whiskey in the finish.

Out of growler from Amarillo tx. Poured into glass. Better after it warms. Oak. Slight whiskey taste.. Not really barrel aged but whiskey added. Slight smoke. Vanilla.

Pours a nearly opaque, very dark brown. Smoky, coffee nose. Lighter texture than one would expect. Not much going with this one, given the style. Some plastic jug whiskey, but only at a faintly detectable level. A bit of oatmeal and light smokiness

Growler poured a clkear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, smoke, vanilla and a hint of whiskey. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and a hint of whiskey with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Thanks to tizzlejizzle for sharing this growler. The beer pours a dark brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is full of roasted malt and a light amount of whiskey. The flavor is similar. Up front I get some bourbon whiskey and oak notes, which are complimented by some roasted malt and chocolate. I also get some vanilla, but it tastes a bit artificial. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

Growler thanks to tizzlejizzle. Black pour with a khaki head. Very light on the palate, light vanilla, roasted malts, light chocolate, and a bitter finish.
