Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 10, 2008 On tap at Big Time is Seattle, WA--Poured a bright amber body with a whitish swirly wispy head. Creamy, nutty, grainy nose. Smooth, subtle. A little thin, but highly enjoyable. fakepurseninja (494), Sammamish, Washington, USA Aug 7, 2008 Has all the makings of a great amber ale but just not enough of it. Grainy, bready caramel cereal malt backbone with just a touch of earth and sweetness. Nice hop profile with light grapefruit and pine essence. Really nice drink - very much like the Mac & Jacks African Amber, just a lighter version. AmEricanbrew (924), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Aug 6, 2008 Copper color with a tight head, nice lacing. Sweet bread aroma with caramel and brown sugar. Super smooth mouthfeel. Nice subtle flavors of caramel with some earthy spices. Very nice cask pulled beer here @ the brewpub. Bradrcr (606), Renton, Washington, USA Aug 4, 2008 7/8/08 On draught at the brewpub. Aroma is rich and caramel malty with almost no hop flora. Appearance is hazy brown with a well maintained cream colored head and good lacing. Flavor is very sweet with lots of sugar and quite low earthy bittering. Mouthfeel is moderate bodied with a medium carb texture. Overall, just too sweet, not enough of either malt or hop character. BrewDad (1657), Olympia, Washington, USA Feb 24, 2008 Taster - Big Time Brewery - Seattle, WA
Aroma – Lighter in the hops on this one. More darker malt in the nose.
Appearance – Dark amber color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor – Has more of a amber flavor like a Scottish light. Has the hops and malt balance with a tad spice.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a nice dry finish.
Overall – A very nice amber ale this was pleasant and easy to drink. Average beer for the regular crowd to order.
