COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Building on a classic English style and adding some uniquely Northwest touches, Bhagwan's Best has developed fiercely loyal following wherever it is served. Bursting with local hop flavor, bitterness, and aroma, it is a particular treat when served dry-hopped and cask-conditioned on Big Time's beer engine. O.G. 16 Plato (1.064), alcohol is approximately 5% by weight.

Starts hoppy, malty sweetish middle, diminishing to a lingering hop bitterness. A good brew. I prefer the assertiveness of Diamond Knot to this and they are closer to me.

This golden-honey colored IPA has a pleasantly smooth hoppiness with few detracting qualities. A great selection from this style.

Shadallion (534) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 1, 2001
UPDATED: MAR 20, 2003 The least of the Big Three Beers from Seattle,(Hale's Pale and Mac and Jack's Amber are the other two)this limited-production IPA is still quite good. Assertively hoppy and dry, with a fine malt backbone, its a beer I could drink in copious quantities. However, there are quite a few superior IPAs out there, specifically Lagunitas and Big Daddy IPA from Speakeasy.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - JUN 25, 2000
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2007 Hazy, slightly darker amber than the Scarlett Fire. Aroma is mainly woody but also a bit orangey. Fairly mild bitterness for style. Hints of forest and caramel. The finish is mild, maybe a bit woody.
