3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap @ Big Time. Hazy, oarnage-gold pour with a white head which fades quickly to leave a coarse lace. Toast and pine nose. Medium body with pine, grapefruit and light toast flavors. Very pleasant, nicely balanced with a solid mouth feel. Not the hop-forward IPA typical of the Left Coast, but a good example of the more common American IPA.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at brewpub. PAle gold, creamy off-white head. Creamy orange-citrus body, sweet hops, a little caramel sweetness at finish. Bit of a tart malty body. Creamy beer, perfectly fine but not too exciting.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Big Time, pours a hazy golden dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is very gentle, with English hops and light bready malt. Flavour is on the sweeter side but still balanced, with caramel malt, bready English malt and a very mild hoppiness. Not my type of IPA but it’s well constructed for what it is.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft pour at the brewery. Pours a copper color with a very mild malt citrus aroma. Bitter hops on the flavor. This is a good IPA, but the flavor is pretty mild to me. Kind of an empty finish as well. What I do taste is all good, but I’m left wanting a little more. Overall this is a good beer though, very drinkable. Smooth flavor. Good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at big time. My 3rd attempt to rate this. Clear amber pour. Citrus (lemon), toast, sweat, even some bubblegum. Lightly sweet, no caramel, bitter finish. Pretty okay.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rating the cask version, which is a lot better than the standard. Super hazy orange color with a thick long lasting head. Well done appearance for a cask. Very fresh bouquet of C hops with the yeast and malts of a British IPA (tea, biscuit). As is often for their beers its like London but with fresh American hops.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Orange in color, faint haze, thin to moderate foamy white head, fairly nice lacing.   Soft somewhat of a sweet hoppy aroma, not too strong, citrus oriented.   Smooth on the tongue, flavorful without being overly bitter.   Could stand to be a bit brighter, but at least its very smooth and clean.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Hoppy finish, light to moderate bitterness, a little citrus peel.   Good overall, but could stand to be a little brighter.

The expectation that this IPA is going to be bitter will not disappoint, bitter from first taste to the last.

On tap. A solid, subtle IPA that doesn’t crack you over the head the way most IPAs in the Northwest tend to do. Very pub-friendly -- I wish it had been available on cask the day I was in.
