Draft at Big Time. Small tan head, opaque, dark. Aroma of bitter roasted grains, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste: big bitter coffee. Dark chocolate. Sweetness underneath but with a big dose of roasty bitterness. Some cereal (but that might just be the name working it’s way into my subconscious). Some smokiness here too. There’s something else there ... not metallic, but ... well, something I can’t place my finger on -- sucks to be anybody else reading this. Palate: oily. Soft carb. Medium-full body. Overall: The name is great, as are the listed ingredients -- I wish I could taste them, but instead I just think "that’s cool; I like cereal." Tastes like a very decent imperial stout to me.

Draft at btbc. Pours blackblackblack with a dense and creamy dark tan mousse with suds and heavy sheets of lace. Big ashy burnt and roasty nose with prunes and soy and chocolate under. Creamy thick body with soft carb. Roast, baking chocolate, prunes, soy, even a bit of black liquorice...virtually every known impy flavor element is here. Long roasty finish.

Damn this is tight. Massive chocolate sweetness. Kind of tastes like chocolate cookie dough. Would give founders breakfast stout a run for its money. No abv listed but doesnt seem detectable. Delicious. Hour later... bartender said this was "it’s one of our strongest. It’s an imperial stout."

Draft at Big Time. Gorgeous deep brown with heavy head. Big roasty coffee bean aroma. A little brown sugar. Very creamy with ruddy hot malts. Alc in back. Complex malts, stacks up the flavor. Juicy, deep red fruit sweetness. Fantastic big ’flavored’ stout. Good job, interesting and tasty beer, best I’ve had at Big Time in awhile.

Very dark colour with a dark brown head. Big rich nose with oatmeal, chocolate and roast. Sweet and roasty, a bit oily in a slick way and the finish is actually fairly sweet and oaty with rich coffee.

Big time draght. Pitch black with dark coffee color head. Smells rich and fudge like dense mocha cake with icing made with chocolate liqueur. Soft and silky mf. Intense and stronger than expected. Dense fudgey malts, like eating liqueur-drenched chocolate ganache. A nice bit of smoke in here. Creamy. Too intense as a pint but really tasty.

Black body with tan head. Nice toasted oats, dark malt, dark coffee aromas. medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Rich, sweet sugared up black coffee flavors with deep roast dryness, dark fruits--very good.

On tap at Big Time Brewery in U-district. Poured into a Tulip instead of the usual pint glass, so it appears to be something special. Aroma was a strong hit of coffee and dark chocolate. Appearance was almost completely black with a great tan head. The head leaves quickly and there isn’t much lacing. Still a pretty looking brew. Taste was rich and full. A bit grainy like other oatmeal stouts. Bittersweet. It conceals the ABV pretty well (I think it’s supposed to be around 8.5%). Palate was decently carbonated and leaves a tickling sensation on the tongue. Overall, I’ll say this is the best I’ve had at Big Time. It’s a really impressive beer and I’ll be sad when it’s gone. As far as stouts go, I’ve had a few better, and I’ve had plenty that weren’t as good. If you find yourself in the area, it’s something to seek out. I gave it an extra point overall for the pun too (Ted Bundy, UW, Serial Killer, Breakfast Cereal).

Really nice espresso aroma on top of dark roast, oat, and a touch of dark malt sweetness as well. Pours black, tan head, lasting, creamy, nice looking. THe flavor is rich and roasty up front with lots of espresso. This is followed by dark malts, hints of sweetness, definite oats are there. Dry roasty mouthfeel with also light hints of sweetness here and there. Really layered and balanced, one of the better Big Time beers I have had. Nice.
