3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: APR 1, 2008 This beer has the perfect stout appearance--dark with a proportionate creamy head and a crisp coffee aroma. However, this beer dissappointed me with its bland coffee flavor followed by a weak burnt finish and a mouthfeel that registered as too light. My rerate of this brew (3-31) is not quite as harsh. Nice smooth velvety body with no off-flavors and mild-roast with slight burnt chocolate finish.

Silky sweet malt. Light in body, but it works.

I drink this stout pretty much every time I visit Big Time. It has a smoothness and head similar to a Guinness or a Murphy’s Irish stout though it is less bitter than Guinness and has a somewhat more ’home brewed’ texture. An excellent brew.
