Yet another old rating. I’m finding these everywhere. On tap at the brewpub. Pours lightly hazy dark amber with an off-white head. Light body, nearly still. Smoky tobacco aroma. Roasty malt taste. Almost non-existent finish.

on tap-pours a thin retaining light tan head that laces and brown color with red tint. Aroma is mild nutty, faint medium malt. Taste is nutty/roasty, medium malt-molasses, secondary hops bite. OK carbonation.

9/4/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is very chocolatey with light roast malt and no hop character. Appearance is medium brown, hazy, with no head. Flavor is roast malt forward, very sweet, with low bittering and flora. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb bite a distinct grainy feel. Overall, this is a little different than most with a lighter flavor profile, and more sweetness, but it’s very easy drinking and tough to complain about.

On tap at Big Time Brewery Seattle, For a Ohio State Football game. Pours out a nice dark brown topped with a off white head. Some nice malt, wood, and a little sweet in the aroma. It also had a some hazel nut on the end.

Dark brown with slightly red accents. Thick head. Sugary, nutty aroma. Almost syrupy hazelnut character, hints of earthy, toasty malt but not enough to balance this out.

On tap at brewpub. Lot’s of chocolate in the nose and the taste. A little coffee. Not too sweet for what I expected, just enough really. Love it.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear brownish amber. Roasty malt aroma. Sweet with soft mouthfeel. Notes of mango, flowers and pineapple. The malt dominates, fairly low bitterness. Perhaps a little too sweet, otherwise a really good brown ale.
