On tap at Brouwers Big Wood 08. Pours a dark, reddish brown with minimal head. Sweet malts and dark wood dominate - smells almost like mahogany with a slightly roasty aroma. Theres a somewhat artificial sweetness in the flavor, and while theres nobody that will agree with me on this, Im going to say it anyway – certain notes in the flavor remind me distinctly of the slurpees I got as a kid – coke mixed with blue raspberry. Theres certainly more to it than that – it has a very good complexity, and shows notes of dark fruits and roasty malts as well – it’s probably the most intriguing thing Ive tasted from Big Time, aside from their Old Wooly barleywine… but theres a lot of residual sugar, and I feel like this one needed to sit a bit longer.

Draft at Brouwers Big Wood 08. Deep mahogany nose, lots of oily wood throughout. deep dark pour with tall white head. Roasty, sweet tannin. A bit of grape, touch chewy but very smooth.
