On tap at Big Time, Seattle. Amber with thin beige head. Belgian yeast aroma. Some candy sugar, but its pretty believable. More of a tripel than a dubbel. Good fruit and malt. Toffee candy sugar. Nice and different. But still a tripel.

My favorite of the samples at Big Time today. Hoppier than I expect from a Dubbel, with sweet dark malts, caramel or sugar, and an odd minty note in the hops. Cloudy, not quite brown, Full mouthfeel, dry finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 13, 2005
Murky dark brown colour. Phenolic, brown sugary, bubblegummy aroma. Sweet, fairly clean (lacking yeastiness for style is what I mean here) malty flavour with hints of bubblegum and toffee. Sweet finish.
