3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bradrcr (808) - Renton, USA - NOV 3, 2007
10/20/07 On draught at the Elysian Pumpkin Festival. Aroma is solid pumpkin and cinnamon spice. Appearance is hazy brown low tan head. Flavor is very similar to the aroma, just the pumpkin and cinnamon are more muted. Medium bodied and warm, this has a very low grain texture and carb bite. Not bad and very easy drinking, the flavors are very mild versus most of the other pumpkin brews.

Tap @ Big Time... Poured clear, golden with a thin head. Fairly hoppy for the pumpkin beer style with nots of bread pie crust, pumpkin herbal squash and spices. The yeast didn’t play at all here. A rather straight forward pumpkin beer.

Draft pour at Brouwers cafe in Seattle, Washington. Pour is ruby, brown, golden with a smallish off white head. Aroma of big cinnamon and nutmeg spice with some soft vanilla sweetness behind that. Way in the back there is a whisper of grainy malt. Sweet, full bodied nose - smells more or less like pumpkin pie. Taste is big pumpkin pie - nutmeg, cinnamon, whipped cream, even some of the toasty crust. Pretty remarkable, actually. Palate is medium, heavy - pretty light carbonation - coats nicely, finish is more of the nutmeg spice. Interesting, and spot on pumpkin pie.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2010 Strong cinnamon and nutmeg aroma, spicy and stays short of aggressive sugary notes. dark orange brown, swirling hazy body. light body, vegetable forward clean spices in the finish. solid and splendid. flesh provides a welcome balance to the spice. 111510 2010 release is better than last years. Dark toasty pumpkin aroma spiced with cinnamon clove and nutmeg. Dark amber in the glass, wet sandy head. Excellent progression of flavors, the vegetable beginning, balanced spicy middle and into a dry piney finish. Homerun in my mouth.

Pumpkin spice, cinnamon, toast, and caramel sweetness on the nose. Orange brown, no head. Sweet toasted malts followed by lots of pumpkin spices. I enjoyed the strong spice aspects of this one.

Draft at Elysian Great Pumpkin Beer Fest (GPBF) 08. Murky, burnished dark amber. Thin, loose, sudsy head. Big pie spice nose. Creamy medium body. Basically a malty amber with a metric fuck-ton of pie spice heaped in. Spicy finish. Needs a little dialing before it can rise to Bill’s usual high standard.
