Hazy amber. Fresh papaya-guava aroma. Fresh hop taste - fruit, light pine and some sticky malts later. Good balance. Fresh hoppy good beer.

draft @ brewpub. Hazy orange with scant head. Citrus pith and earth in the aroma. Flavors pop. Silky palate ushers in all the pine flavors. Sweet backbone makes it balanced. Happy in the mouth.

Big Time IPA Festival – Seattle Beer Week 2010
Dark amber in color, thin head. Lots of hops this was a big Impy IPA. Lots of fruit and bitter flavors. Very much a easy drinking beer too many of these and you will be licking the floor.

Draft at Brouwer’s, served by its namesake. Pours cloudy orange with a smallish head reminiscent of melted marshmallows. Good, traditional balance of citrus hops and caramel malts in the aroma, but the flavor trends toward malt-heavy. Some brown sugar and lightly toasted malts round out what would otherwise be a really crisp IPA. Certainly tasty and smooth (as Bill’s brews always are), but I’m looking for something a little more on the refreshing side in a big IPA.

Earthy hops on the nose, light malt base, a hint of sweetness. Pours golden orange, decent head retention and lace, resiny, oily head. Earthy hops, some citrus, pale malts, bread, iced tea. Light citrus bitterness in finish.

Clear amber color/ off white head. Mild floral, pine, alcohol aromas. medium to full bodied. Malty sweet caramel, white bread, candi sugar flavors with tooty fruity hops. More a Barleywine than DIPA to me, better as it warmed.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep copper color with a medium white head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is sweet malts, light fruit. The flavor is smooth, not bitter, rich fruity hops, light and sessionable. Good.

Draft at Brouwer’s. Pours a doughy, cloudy copper with a uniform dirty white head. Nose is very abundant on the caramel and bready malt with slight citrus pith and wet grass hops. Mouth feel is fairly chewing with decent carb feel. The flavor is very one dimensional and light in hop profile with the unmistakable Big Time malt.

Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 2, 2010
Draft at Brouwer’s. Poured an orange color with a rim of white bubbles. Aroma is of orange and a little pine. This starts out a little sweet and caramelly, and has some orange citrus notes in it. Finishes with bitter, resinous pine. Lightly carbonated with a bit too much alcohol heat on the finish for my taste.
