Bomber shared by theisti. Pours a hazy orange-caramel brown with a thin skin of tiny off-white bubbles. The nose is sweet, dark fruity caramel, like a traditional barley wine only "lighter". The palate is on the light side of medium-bodied and slick leading to a lightly woody finish. Sweet, lightly nutty, caramel and woody hops. Pretty nice; this is an excellent summer alternative to a heavier, malty barley wine. I enjoyed sampling this one outdoors on a breezy summer day following a heavy rainfall. Thanks again for sharing this one with us, Tim!

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2008 22oz bottle brought by theisti. Aroma is citrus, caramel, a little boozy, not too bad. Orange, gold color with a slight head. Large mouthfeel, very slick. Taste is subtle sharp wheat, tangerine/orange, very malty, nice bitterness. Just OK.

Aromatic hoppy orange goodness resonates with malt, cloudy orange in colour, sporting a small custard head. Taste starts with a big hop kick, has a fine malt backbone. Full bodied, amazingly bitter. Terrific! Thanks rudolf!

On tap at Big Time. Served in a short snifter. Pours a warm, hazy amber with dense, creamy off-white head. Light aroma of wheat and bread. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. Not complex, but tasty none the less.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours deep murky dark amber with orange highlights. Thick moussy tan head that leaves dense sheets of lace on the way down. Light floral sweetness that seems somehow to come from the wheat rather than a hop, but I really have nothing to base that on. Rich, thick, creamy body with just the right underlying hint of carb. Dense caramel sweetness on the mid-palate. Interesting molasses and pepper notes on the back of the tongue, followed by some hollow resin. Simple but really lovely.

Bottle sampled on 8/26/06, thanks to acertain via JHop: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a nicely-lacing wispy white head. Aroma has a nice, sweet wheaty presence with good light fruity undertones and fresh citrusy hops. Body starts with a sweet caramel malt and toasty wheat flavor with good fresh grapefruity hoppy balance with a warming finish. A nice wheatwine.

[126-20061209] 1pt6floz (2006). Wheaty straw aroma with light band-aid. Deep orange body with no bubbles and virtually no head. Sweet and light tangyness, yeasty, quite hoppy. Complex medium palate. Nice togetherness, big hops.
