COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With 55% wheat and 9% Vienna Malt, Slugfest is a sweet authentic German Wheat Beer. We used a true German yeast strain which imparts clove and banana esthers. The only area where we departed from authenticity was in making Slugfest a little bigger and bolder. OG Plato 15.5 (1.062) 5.5% by Wt.

More enjoyable than I expected or than my friends expected. A big full bodied wheat beer, with sweet fruit, pepper and clove spice, and a little lemony sourness at the end. Almost clear ... odd for a wheat ... but great lacing.

Tap at the brewery. <!-- p --> Pours a relatively clear gold with a modest head. The aroma is fruity - lemons and pineapple and banana - with slight yeast hints. The flavors fairly much as expected - cool, fruity, sweet, banana and lemonade and bit of tropical fruit, adequate grassy hops on the close. <!-- p --> This is pretty nice, and plenty refreshing. I’d call it an American Wheat rather than a German Hefe, but that’s semantics.

Hazy gold with a frothy head and nice lacing. Light wheat aroma with a hint of fruity hops. Slightly bitter with citrus throughout. A touch of yeast is noticble. Flavor is husky and malty mixed in with the wheat. Bitter hops along with citrus again. This goes down very smooth and is greatly refreshing. I’m glad I hopped on the wrong 75 bus and ended up in the U District today.

Hazy golden orange. Grainy nose. Spiced (cloves) yeasty wheat flavor in the german style. Refreshing.

Hazy orange with a light underbody, this beer has a pleasant wheaty and grainy aroma with the presence of banana increasing with time. Excellent german wheat flavor, with the eventual appearance of banana, cloves, and esters. Somewhat light on the palate, it leaves the taste of unripe banana. Smooth, light, and refreshing.
