3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 riversideAK (4553) - Shoreline, USA - DEC 19, 2010
Nose is nice and hoppy. Good dose of cascades - relatively floral and citrus with light pale malt sweetness underneath. Pours gold with a decent head to start that settles to not much over time. Nice floral and citrus flavors, moderately assertive. Light pale malt sweetness, lingering hoppy flavors. Slightly resiny, but easily drinkable.

Not a bad single malt and single hop ale. Poured a medium straw with a half inch of moderate head. Aroma was similar to pilsner malt, crackers, biscuits and even a slight graininess; there was a light citrus hop in the background. Bitterness was restrained, a bit of a light candy-like sweetish character came through in the malt. It finished a tad sweet, with some diacetyl, and tasted slightly underattenuated. At one time this example might have been considered a fairly standard pale ale. Now it’s purely a showcase of one malt because again, the hops although prevalent do not display a distinct character.

he bartender said this batch used Cascade (not sure of the malt). Blonde colored. Easy grain and pleasant, light perfume hop nose . Hop body is again a bit perfumy along with moderately tannic graininess. Light bodied, yet with a definite vein of flavor. Ok for a blonde ale.
