Sampled at the beer and bacon festival in grand forks. Very nice caramel forward malts followed by a nice hippy bite. A very good dipa.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Split a pounder with one of my co-workers, who brought this from Minnesota. Thanks! Poured a clear, dark orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was herbal hops, bitterness, plenty of resin. Flavor had plenty of hops, malts, nice balance. Not overly boozy for nearly 10%. This was dangerously good.

pkbites you and I must have completely different taste buds, or you rated the wrong beer... no caramel or malt and all... this was a hop bomb and had only hop characteristics. Floral and citrus to the finish and I wish it has a little more malt to balance it out a little better.
This was very enjoyable and will definitely drink again

2.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Cloudy but light reddish pour. Slightly off white head that is creamy with some lacing on the glass. Nice caramel/bakery/malty aroma. Thick, sweet, caramel mouth feel.
Strong alcohol content is immediately detected and itís not pleasant. This would be quite good if not for the malt liquor burn upon swallow. Ethanol over takes the hops and other flavors. High ABV all but ruins an otherwise excellent brew. For shame. ĎTis a pity.
2.6 out of 5.

Can. Pours a hazy orange body with a thick one-inch white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, sugar, and floral hops. Flavor is similar, although rather sweet. Slightly sticky on the palate. Light carbonation. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness. Quite drinkable with no noticeable alcohol burn.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2014 Can from newly opened Total Wine in Roseville. I assumed this was a fresh can since the stock is just a couple weeks old, but I wonder if it sat at the distributor for a while. No date on the can unfortunately. Pours a hazy orange with big lasting head and awesome lacing. Aroma is getting some vegetative oxidized hop vibe (stale hops). Taste has some past-their-prime hops as well, but luckily thereís just enough bitterness and a touch of alcohol to keep it from being totally spoiled. Since this beerís reputation has never lived up to my first experience with it, I wonder if this is a bad batch, or if itís just too old. Either way, Iím leery of paying the relatively high price for this beer if I donít know what Iím going to be getting. My first can of this was amazing, but this one is mediocre at best. I hate to dock it so much, but Iíve got to. For goodness sake, put a date on the cans. Iíll gladly pay whatever premium the date stamping method costs to implement if it means Iím guaranteed fresh beer.
The guy @ Rum River W&S said this brew is on its way out. Hopefully he meant just for the season! Pours a murky orange with huge head that has staying power, leaving behind great lacing. Aroma is big with tangerine and other fruity citrus, staying sweet but balanced with a little tartness and eventually small showing from the malt. First thing you notice is the silky smooth mouthfeel - medium bodied, with fine-grained carbonation coming in late. Taste is a reserved dose of pine and resin, then into a wave of citrusy grapefruit, which brings some bitterness and drying in the middle, finishing with a long and marvelous aftertaste. A little warming from the alcohol but not much in the taste. I was incredibly surprised by how good this was. Aggressive in all the right places. Please donít stop making this one. 9+5+9+5+18=4.6

had it out of a 16oz can. Poured a partly clear amber hue with a creamy yellow head. It has a apricot aroma with strong hop flavor, and a bitter aftertaste.
