The coffee aroma brings you back to the first cup of the day hence the name “Morning Wood”. This is a dry Stout, dark in color, light bodied, with a creamy roasted character.

16 oz can poured. Much thanks to Dan for sharing. Pours a near black with a tan swirl head. Coffee heavy aroma with some wood character. Flavor is very dry, oak, coffee, good roasted malt. Dry toasty finish. Very fun beer to try. Good stuff.

Opaque brown body beneath a creamy tight off white head. Buttery and artificial notes of glue, rubber. Flavor is more coffee. Fairly smooth palate. Mixed on this one. Aroma is kind of gross, but the strong flavis of coffee, smoke, vanilla, and caramel mask the flaws.

16 oz can served in a mug at the 2015 Albino Skunk Music Festival. Pours very dark brown with an exceptionally creamy head. The aroma is moderately strong with at least as much chocolate as coffee and roast grain. The coffee comes to the fore upon tasting. It’s nearly matched by the rich, dark roasted grains. Moderately bitter.

Sampled at Northgate Andover beer tasting. Decent, roasty... not much expected from this style, and nothing earth-shattering here.

Can shared by Dan. Light acidic coffee note in the aroma. Faint fudge. Dark brown with small off white head. Very acidic and almost tart flavor. Thin mouthfeel. Overall just meh.

16 ounce can. Pours almost black with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is the same. Somewhat thin. Not bad, but not memorable.

Can from my brother in-law. Pours a reddish opaque colour, half finger of off white head, sheets of lacing. Nose is cold wort, malt, roast, sugar sweet, coffee. Tastes thin a little coffe, a lot of roast malt, quite sweet.

Black pour with a two finger, creamy to chunky light tan head that has great retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma is toasty, slightly metallic dark roast coffee, big toffee sweetness a little burnt sugar and roast. Flavor is roast, toasted bread, dark caramel, lots of sweet toffee, granola, coffee, dusty chocolate and moderate metallic notes. Light body, dry, slightly chalky entry, medium, to heavy, blanketing and pretty sharp carbonation, dry, chalky and tinny finish. Pretty good stuff overall, but to thin and metallic, also too sweet, pretty sure there’s some weird artificial sweeteners in there to get all that sweetness with such a light body.
