15th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Summer Fest 2010: Deep brown cola hue with a fading frothy head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roast, hint of charcoal, coffee, and a hint of mint leaf. The taste was sweet at first but then some coffee and hop bitterness came about. Unlike the Busted Knuckle which had a great mouth feel, this was quite the opposite with a thin weak body and ashy finish. A poor effort and very kit like.

Draft. Black body with tan head, mostly lasting. Aroma of roast and caramel with a hint of molasses, coffee and chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Roast bitterness in the finish with a taste of coffee. Medium to full body, creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Most enjoyable and most refined of the four beers I had at the brewpub.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black colored body. The aroma was roasted malt and dark malt. The semi-flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt and dark malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Draft at Brewpub. Pours black with a retentive light brown head. Aroma of roast and chocolate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a silky texture. Flavor of dark roasted malts and chocolate, with some faint bitterness to help balance it out. Moderate residual sweetness. Tastes like a cross between a sweet and a dry stout. Not bad, but needs a little more body and bitterness as this comes across as being a little watered down.

Draft sample at IBG 2010 Winterfest. Poured a black color with an average creamy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate burnt sweet malt and coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium burnt bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Smooth brew, my expectations where not met.

Started with a slight roasted, choclatey aroma. Taste was a let down. Tasted like 1/2 stout, 1/2 water. Very little mouth feel, low alcohol content. Overall, a very dissapointing beer.

Dark brown, creamy tan head. Aroma is light roasty, mostly empty. Taste is sweet, roasty but not astringent, chocolate, light body.
