Medium white head. Slightly hazy deep brown body with carbonation. Nutty earthy papery aroma with toasty strawy notes. Dry-sweet earthy caramelly grainy taste with chocolatey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish mealy earthy nutty aftertaste with grainy chocolatey dusty notes. Interesting, unusual, extremely earthy. Similar to Lithuanian kaimiskas. 2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 zenkis (258) - Ogre, LATVIA - OCT 10, 2012
Pours dark mudy brown. Nice white cap becomes thin white, but long lasting. Aroma is most difficult to me in this beer cause I really don’t know what it is, maybe some caramel malt with alco but there is something common with "Brūveris" made ones - I call it used oil from mcDonald’s - but maybe it is some kind of noble ingredients. High carbonation. Medium bodied. Not sour. Sweet with mystical something. Weird. Must re-rate.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 FatPhil (7498) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 12, 2012
Tap (Brevinga Laukums, Riga)
Slightly dirty oily aroma. Some tobacco. Deep orange, small tight head. Half way between Piebalgas and Tervetes in "character". So slightly quirky, but pretty nice. The bitterness stays with you quite a long time. Smooth palate. Certainly an adequate characterful beer, but a bit of this and a bit of that.
