UPDATED: SEP 20, 2006 Had this beer after stopping in at Bell’s, I will be kind and not down it to much. However, it lacked just about every character an American Wheat style beer should have. Poor aroma.............color way to dark............flavor not even close. Zero drinkability/enjoyment factor. I would say that maybe it was an "off" night but my two friends tried two other Bilbo products and arrived at the same conclusions. Great price on the beers at $2.75 for a 28 oz. mug but we ended up pouring all three out in the parking lot from the patio and ordering Sierra Nevada Pale ale. Pizza is awsome, skip the beer!

Pours a dark orange, bubbles cling to the side with a thin tan head and larger bubbles. The nose is faint and grainy, barely any yeast with some strong phenol and a faint lemony hop. The taste has more phenol, off putting, fair amount of lemon and strong grain in back. Lighter body, strong carbonation and a bit of an empty finish.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured cloudy yellow color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate wheat citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth thin texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with an average drinkable beer.

one of the best bilbos beer. It’s a shame that they don’t bottle the stuff, but going to bilbos is always a treat. Also, recommended is their Dragon Red and Duff beer (YES, a total rip off of the Simpsons but both tasty).

This is a very nice American Style Wheat beer and found in a place that makes great pizza as well. Perfect compliment. Whereas many microbreweries overhops their beer this is very nice. Smooth and a little bitter. Great compliment to the food. Must try.
