Cask at GBBF 2010, 5th Aug 2010. Flat murky brown. Tired taste with just some very average malt flavours. Looks like I got the bottom of the barrel, given the other rates for this from that day.

I think this beer is clear, but it’s too dark to tell. Strong roast malt aroma. Heavy body with a sour finish that spoils an otherwise nice stout.

Pint at the brewpub - Mild aroma of dark roasted malts, hops and chocolate. Flavor is more intense, soy, black licorice, chocolate, dark roasted malts, hops but is lactic. Palate is sticky. It’s big and flavorful but just a touch off the mark.
