Sham (1845), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 10, 2005 Dark brown with mahogany edges. Some string lace with no head. Strong roast and caramel in the nose. Bitter hops and chocolate. Flavors show bitter chocolate and alcohol. Strong roast malt with some coffee. Bitter finish with a sharp, dry palate.
BückDich (4475), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 9, 2005 Sampled draught at Bill’s Tavern, Cannon Beach Opaque brown, no head. Nose of nice dark roasted malts, meaty wakame & creamy body. The hops aren’t pronounced, just playing along. The flavor is smoky, good stout, well worth the visit (Enter: The exception!).
