AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 1, 2003 rated 4/21/03 at Bill's, Cannon Beach. A dark cloudy brown, with a thin whitish head that diminished quickly. Minimal aroma, but a nice smokey flavor with the trace of licorice in the finish, and some chocolate hints through the middle.
Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 25, 2007 Dark brown. Toasty aroma. More toast on the palate with light chocolate. A bit thin in body. Very simple, standard porter. Not getting any smoke or liquorice, that’s for sure. BuckeyeBoy (1130), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 14, 2006 On Tap At Bills Tavern and Brewhouse Cannon Beach OR. Pours out a Nice dark brown with a small tan head. Verry nice aroma of lots of roast. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Mar 13, 2006 A wonderful porter, kind of gets away from the typical flavors and gets more into some of the baltic varieties. Slightly smokey, with a little hint of tobacco, and a great taste of licorice, that reminds me of drinking a twizzler. Rich and robust. pinkzambia (881), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 16, 2005 On Tap at Bill’s: This beer was wonderfully dark with a espresso colored head and sticky lacing. It was thicker than most porters which is probably why I liked it. It has a rich, charcoal flavor that lingers in the nostrils. Rich is the word here. I thought it was really good. acrdz (4302), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 10, 2004 Medium dark brown. Biting hops, maple flavored malts and a brown-ale likeness with some vanilla. Again, a disorganized attempt... roasted nuts in the finish... but disappointing.
