Cask conditioned, at the CASK Pub & Kitchen on 18th December 2010. Black with very little head. Rich and fruity with a citric tang on the tongue. Quite a fruity finish with some herb and spice notes. Light mouthfeel and pleasant drinking.

A nice sweet stout, which gives what is expected. I would have hoped for a touch more...it’s just missing something.

Bottled. A black beer with a short-lived tan coloured head. An excellent roasty smoky stout. Great burnt malts in the mouth. Very smooth. The roasty malts linger with a kick of coffee. Chocolate makes appearances also. Very tasty and well brewed.

Cask, served in a mug at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico. Just a single patch on the top of a pitch black body. Aroma is dominated by liquorice and slightly roasted malts. Flavour brings liquorice, black malts and a touch of dried fruits. Bitter liquorice on the swallow. OK, a bit unvaried, though (London, 30.07.2011).
