3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bov (7354) - Bienne, - MAY 4, 2005
cloudy dark reddish colour, fine creamy persistant head and a nice lacing, charming honeyish aroma with a touch of prune and licorice, very creamy mouthfeel, the sweetness is partially balanced by a hint of acidity, more honey and light notes of alcohol in a long sweetish finish - a great and very interesting dessert beer - thanks to Laurent Mousson for this one
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (2395) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 28, 2012
On draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours a beautiful dark amber colour with a thick beige head that dies down to a thin cap. Aroma of honey, cherries, elderflower, lemon, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Not bad, just a little sweet, with a light cherry cough syrup character to finish.

330ml bottle.
Pours a deep amber, with a beige head.
The aroma is quite fruity, estery, with malty notes, carael, toffee, honey, something spicy.
Semi-sweet, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2.
Spicy taste, honey, malt hops, chocolate, caramel, yeast. Gets a bit cloying after a while.

Tap in Moeder Fontainas. This poured a brown/amber colour with a ruddy tint. It is a sweet dark ale, with taste of malt, spice and a bit of booze. Not too cloying though. When I drank it had no idea of the ingredients - I hear the honey, don’t quite get the pear. Still good though!

Must have been skunked. This smells like my grandmas purse. Old skanky and full of hoppy pines

Had this at Max’s belgian beer fest. As per their tradition, the beer was misspelled on their menu. They had it as "bloesom" not "bloesem". Anywhos this was tasty. I picked it due to the inclusion of pears which I had not had in a beer before. The beer was a bit fruity, but the fruityness was very subtle. Well done!

Honey and caramel nose, subtly buttery in a good way. shimmering amber, headless. alcohol is noticeable. Honey or candi flavor, hay. the strikes me as a Belgian beer trying to emulate a British bitter. It’s a nice idea and I enjoy it.
