rkuhnel (1139), Eureka, California, USA Oct 9, 2008 From a 330 ml bottle courtesy of bhensonb this poured a cloudy copper color with a tiny off-white head and light lacing. Nose is of flowers and and fruit, with a touch of honey. Light and carbonated mouthfeel. Flavor is somewhat sweet with the ripe fruit dominating. Finish is sweet. Easy to drink and satisfying. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 20, 2008 Bottle from Dranken Geers. Pear syrup and honey. Reddish brown colour with thin beige head. Sweetish pleasing aroma, some hop and sweetish fruit. A pretty drinkable beer to be honest. I mean there’s a hint of pear, but the best things are the flavours in the mouth. Dry malt and then a fairly good stinging hop on finish. I like it a lot. Really lovely feel on the swallow. Good malty fruit/hop mix and balance. kiefdog (482), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 1, 2008 33cl from Knightly Spirits (Orlando, FL). Pours an opaque reddish brown with one finger tannish head that settles quickly. Some lacing and head retention. Aroma is floral with notes of ripe fruit, spice, and some hints of plums. Flavor is much of the same -- sweet malt, ripe fruit, and malty sweetness. Might actually taste the pears and honey just a little, but not completely present in the nose. Light to medium body with a slight sweet finish. ogivlado (2399), Zagreb, Croatia Sep 1, 2008 On tap at De Beiaard, Spui, Amsterdam.
Light hazy amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head, candy sugar and light fruity nose. Light roasty malty and very fruity taste with notes of berries, spices and burnt sugar. Mild caramel honeyish finish. Interesting but a bit too sweet. Naka (426), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2008 Pours a very effervescent copper amber color with a thick tight foam light beige head that lasts for awhile and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is a sweet floral pear, a slight yeasty bite, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is high on sweet malty honey. Brown sugar and honey are very noticeable. A nice little spice to it. The mouthfeel is very creamy and doesn’t have the spritz that it appears it would. Leaves a fruity warming alcohol on the tongue.
